Mistake 1. Wrong brow shape
The very first thing you might be doing wrong is shaping the brows incorrectly. That’s the stage in which girls tend to make most mistakes. We like to pluck too much and then we are left with too sparse, too short brows or too pointy arches. This breaks the symmetry of the face.
You should remember how to do the brow mapping correctly. Ideally, mark out the beginning and ending as well as the arch point. Next, draw the lines choosing the best brow shape for your face:
- soft arch for oval face
- steep arch for round or diamond-shaped face
- thicker s-shaped brows for square face
- rounded brows for triangular face
- straight brows for oblong face
Mistake 2. Wrong color of a brow filler
Another mistake is connected with choosing the color of brow filling products. Beautiful brows go along with our skin tone and hair color. Very dark, black brows don’t make a good match with a blonde girl. It’s not just the color that matters, you also need the right tone. Similarly to foundation, brow fillers can be either cool or warm. The choice of inappropriate color and tone equals eyebrow fail.
Mistake 3. Too much product
Putting too much filler is another common mistake. Even a brow pencil or pomade in perfect color may spoil your makeup if you overuse it. The rule is simple, though. Keep your eyebrow makeup the most natural and delicate possible.
Mistake 4. Comic-book eyebrows
There are a few more mistakes we tend to make while filling in the eyebrows and it’s about the shape and color too. Namely, we happen to make them too bold, map them wrong or draw them too archy. We often forget that the top and bottom lines should run smoothly and subtly whereas the brow start can’t be square-shaped. Getting this look makes your eyebrows look like taken out of a comic book. Not necessarily a desired look, right?
Mistake 5. No brow shaping
Is there anything else that can turn your beautiful makeup and brows into complete failure? Yeah! It’s the tiny hairs that need tweezing. If they are outside the brow ridge, they catch people’s eye and spoil the effect you’ve been working on.
After completing make-up, take the tweezers and pluck unwanted hairs. It takes several seconds tops but makes all the difference. If you want brows on fleek, just do it!
